Flying Lotus posted a tweet yesterday that simply said: “Waiting for Badu to get here so we can start Day 1 of our project together.” The pair teamed up last year when FlyLo co-directed the video for "Gone Baby, Don't Be Long" (above) from New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh, which has clearly sparked a more enduring collaboration between the duo. This news comes hot on the heels of an announcement that Badu will DJ the Coachella party thrown by Stones Throw/Brainfeeder, which will also include sets by FlyLo, Gaslamp Killer, Madlib, Dam Funk, and Peanut Butter Wolf.

Back in February, Erykah Badu dropped a heady video for New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh cut "Gone Baby, Don't Be Long", co-directed by beat impresario Flying Lotus. It seems like that collaboration was more than just a one-off, though, as FlyLo has been working on new material with Badu.

Flying Lotus himself announced that he was producing for Badu last night during a show at the University of Southern California. The news comes on the heels of FlyLo announcing on his Twitter that Badu will DJ during the Stones Throw/Brainfeeder Pool Party that's going down this coming Sunday, April 17, during Coachella. Suffice to say, the mind boggles as to what these two artists could come up with together.

AAAAAAH! First off I didnt know there WAS a video for Gone Baby..then shes hooking up with Flying Lotus (my friend hipped me up on em not too long ago)..that's why I love Badu..she is so explorative in her music and does not follow any type of trend.

That video, scared the hell out of me, when I first saw it last year...

I've only been a casual fan of Erykah, and I'm only recently getting hip to FlyLo. But this is really kind of intriguing.
