yeah, i loved this, and 'twilight world'... they were definitely one of the few 'white' groups to cross over into black radio, like wham, taylor dayne (is she white?), ABC, and a few others.

Always found the original arrangement of this song too 'peppy' for my liking.

However, the acoustic version is absolutely gorgeous. See:

It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

Timmy, I can ride with you! I have loved this song since I was in grade school.

Thanks to whoever posted the little acoustic jam. LOVE IT! I have been a longtime SOS fan, but never heard this. A great song is just a great song.

They have some other gems in their catalogue as well.

Here are some of my favorites

Oops, I forgot a few. Dag, Timmy, why did you get me started! I should be sleep! lol

This was my cut, too. I always found it a bit of a shame that they never really caught on in the US. Much like Jamiroquai, they had the goods and delivered but never really made a dent or at least not as big as their talent would suggest they should have IMO.

Absolutely looove this song!!! My wife and 5 year old daughter likes it a lot too, and it's one of those fun songs that we put on, turn up real loud and dance around the house listening to when we're having fun and being goofy.

For me personally, it reminds me of Brooklyn in the Summer of 1989. It brings me right back there everytime I hear it.

It's such a huge sounding late 80's production, with the horns and synth pads. The singer was rocking that European, exotic, Sade vibe in her vocals too.

To me, "Surrender" is Swing Out Sister's best song:
