Gene Simmons

Man Gene Simmons i can not STAND to hear this man talk he loves himself way to much, i mean i have tons of Kiss albums even there guilty pleasure... cheesy 80's albums.

I Watched a recent interview with him, and he just has not changed, it's still all about all the women his ugly, wig wearing ass slept with. How much money he make's and how important Kiss is in rock history and just the worship the almighty Gene Simmons talk.

I Actually respect some of the lesser known artists of Kiss like Bruce Kulick, Eric Carr, Mark St.John etc.

They enjoyed there time in Kiss, even though it was considered there ''worst'' era, but i love the 80's Kiss era it was cheesy & fun... i mean HONESTLY even in there supposed ''heyday'' Kiss was not writing poetry by nay means-_-

He better be lucky KISS did some great shit in the '70s otherwise no one would listen to what he gotta say. And besides his son is way hotter than he is.

Paul Stanley i do make fun of him a lot because of what my friend's call his gay face he always has lol, and his over the top singing which i actually really like.

Either way, Paul is the principle songwriter, now he is not writing Stairway To Heaven or Living For The City by any means but he wrote some of there best song's 70's to now

And his over the top theatrical singing always amuses me....

Plus with Vinnie Vincent, Eric Car, Mark St. John, Bruce Kulick a lot of underrated musicians in the 80's & 90's group.

Plus it seem's Paul has grown up unlike Gene he used to be a whore to, now he is married with a kid

Yup. Paul single handedly kept Kiss alive during the '80s, especially after the makeup came off. If you look at the songs Gene wrote circa 1984-1989 it's basically all a big pile of crap. Gene had a magnificent return to form on Revenge, his songs were arguably better than Paul's, but since then he hasn't written many good songs.

Gene probably went into a decline after the Love Gun album. His songs on Dynasty and Unmasked were fairly mediocre. He had some good stuff on Creatures of the Night and Lick It Up but Paul was the one doing the heavy lifting.

I disagree. Paul is smart enough to keep his mouth shut (for the most part) and let Gene make an ass of himself. The way I see it Paul is fine with letting Gene be the face of the band and letting people think he runs the show.

The bootleg Paul Stanley-Let Me Get This Off My Chest is pretty funny but not as good as it could have been. I've been saying for years that Kiss should release a 75 minute disc of nothing but his stage raps, someday it's going to happen.

I dig Anyway You Slice It, Hell or High Water and Thief in the Night, and that's all lol I've read many times that No,No,No is the true highlight off the Crazy Nights album but I personally think that it's a big pile of rhythmless, repetitive late-80s hair-metal crap lol lol

I still laugh at the songs he did for Animalize and Hot in the Shade (Burn Bitch Burn, Murder in High Heels, Cadillac Dreams, Prisoner of Love, etc.) Pure hilarous crap.

the great Gene songs of Revenge proved that he was basically on autopilot during the second half of the 80s (acting career, manager & producer of young hard-rock bands, etc)

But you should give Sonic Boom another chance, some great Gene songs there, specially Russian Roulette and Nobody's Perfect.

Yeah, I probably should give Sonic Boom a few more spins. I think I listened to it about three times and that was it. I'm still disappointed that we never got a proper followup to Revenge. They must have been disappointed with the sales and maybe Bob Ezrin wanted too much money to do another album but I was sure that they had another great album in them.

well, for me that album is Sonic Boom!! No filler and a lean & mean production, a couple of cheesy lyrics here and there, but hey, this is Kiss, remember? lol

Carnival of Souls was a turd, man I'm glad that it never got a proper release, what a TURD!!

oh, I forgot that album they released in 1998, was it called Psycho Assholes???

Trust me, Gene is very happy to have Paul Stanley as THE primany vocalist of KISS.

We have to remember that it was Paul that almost single-handedly had the responsibility of keeping KISS successful enough to get by through the band's non-makeup era while Gene was too busy selling out from doing the Hollywood thing.

In fairness, Paul had his past issues with Ace & Peter. But he NEVER taken his negative criticisms over the top like Gene has. Even with the issues of Vinnie, Gene take the internal feuds more personal than Paul does.

exactly! Gene is such a drama queen, a truly over the top individual with big ego problems. Something happened to him in 1978. He was a cool guy during the 73-77 era. After that it was all money, bitches and ego. He hitted rock bottom when he said, in 1992, that Vinnie was a "borderline egotistical freak with casual suicidal thoughts" or something like that eek , that was just bullshit. confused fuck you Gene. EVEN Paul himself got tired of him in 1987 and that's sayin' something, since Paul is such a cool, sweet, "talk to the hand" guy...
