George Michael On Letterman.....

Sometimes i love Letterman but he was a straight up ass here, we know George has his won issues, but he was going through a lot of shit at the time of this interview, from the mid to late 90's

With his lover dying of A.I.D.S, his mom passing away, then eventually being outed & having interviewers ridicule him like this and want to talk about nothing else but the toilet incident.... no wonder he went crazy the 00's

I saw this when it aired back in '98. I probably still have the VHS tape. George is a big boy. He has never come across (to me) as a victim. Nobody outed him. He knew what he was doing when he got himself arrested. George was so far off the general public's radar in America by this time it was ridiculous. As for this Letterman interview, I'm sure George pre-approved the topic of conversation. The purpose of George's appearance was to A) promote his greatest hits package that Sony didn't lift a finger to promote, and B) make it clear to America that he was alive and well and not going to hide in shame over the big scandal. If George really didn't want to discuss his arrest any further all these months later would he have made that over-the-top music video for "Outside"? (which if I recall correctly, had just premiered ealrlier in the week on MTV)

nod that is what always made me respect George, he never made himself look like the victim (well, aside from the Sony lawsuit). He's never had a problem explaining his side of the story

in fact, I think he can be too critical of himself at times

Hmmm perhaps your right, i just saw the interview and made assumption without really thinking of all that, George has made quite a bit of mistakes & he does seem to acknowledge his f ups

On that note, Outside is one of my least fav tunes by him confused
