Britney performs Till The World Ends at Jimmy Kimmell
There was no need to lipsync that.
And this on Good Morning America?
Britney looks like a puppet now. She looks so disinterested.
A far contrast from years ago- when we saw singing in her performances.

and she's going on a world tour? LOL!

You know, i've been wondering about this. She doesn't perform the way she used to. The fire seems to be gone and she looks a lot stiffer when she dances. What's up with that? Don't tell me she's lost it already?!

i used to love britney all the way up til 2005... after that K-fed stuff i couldn't stand her.. and now she doesn't have any motivation or hunger.. and lost her luster.. and there is no talent to back it up.. so no real interest in her anymore...
im just amazed at how she is still around...

I can see your point on that because let's face it. We all know she practically never sings live which i've accepted, so at least i used to look forward to her dancing and now she's barely even doing that. if she was just coming out now (as an artist) people would not tolerate that as much as they do, so she's lucky she's been around for a while and has a strong group of followers.

its her brand/name that is keeping her a float...

She's done as far as I'm concerned and I agree that she's only famous these days because she is a brand. I will say that Inside Out on her new album is a nice song.

I usually can't even stand these new techno-dance songs all over the radio, but I can tolerate "Til the World Ends" - I can actually listen to it and not want to bash my own brains out.
And she looks great too - she still has that bionic wonder-body

Weird
In this video from the Circus Tour, she actually looks okay moving around the stage and performing the act, given that she is still lipsyncing.
Unless she's just out of touch, nervous, and medicated in the recent performances. [Edited 4/1/11 20:37pm]

I think it’s the medication to be honest and just getting older. I’m a fan but not blind to the fact she looks like she’s just not into it anymore. I think she should stop she's done enough but if she loves what she does then continue I guess. [Edited 4/1/11 20:47pm]

She's not that old though- its obviously that medication, her record forcing her to do something against her own will, and anxiety probably after not performing for awhile on stage.
I mean Madonna was doing this on Blonde Ambition tour at age 32.
And Janet on Velvet Rope Tour- she was 30 that time
The Up Close and Personal Tour- just recently

I saw Britney live on the Circus tour. All I'm going to say is that she absolutely does move very lethargically. Her dancers dance very hard around, behind, and adjacent to her, but she primarily just stands still and dances with her arms. The same dance moves, every song basically. She used to have varied dancing and each song had a routine... But not since her breakdown. Everything is the same flickwristwhiphairleftthenright, stepinplaceraisehandsslow, thensharplydropthem, guydancesatyourfeetpushhisheadaround shit. [Edited 4/1/11 22:28pm]

although she looks pretty happy here, take away the dancers and all the effects, and there's not much left....

Not only did Janet and Madonna have talent to begin with, but they spent many years while their career was taking off really honing their skills. Britney has been around for a little more than 10 years, and after the mid-2000s she just gave up. She had more work to do but she stopped t have kids and get caught up in crazy drama. time flies.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
But um... Both Janet and Madonna, 10 years into the game, lost their shit.
Britney came out in 1998. Ten years later, she was mid-breakdown. Madonna came out in 1982. Ten years later, she was mid-Erotica aka major career slump, showing her pussy all over TV, print, and anywhere else. Janet broke in 1986. Ten years later, she was going through a nasty, abusive marriage and shortly after the divorce put out the first in a long string of unsuccessful albums (briefly seeing major success again with All For You).
BTW - My point is just that Madonna and Janet are just way more talented than Britney in basically every way. At least, they were when they were Britney's age. Britney is very charming and cute and I personally am a big fan of hers ever since she came out (just cuz I dig fruity pop like that, sue me), but she is not especially talented. She was a VERY good dancer before she cracked. The drugs keeping her supposed bipolar shit together is what is dumbing her down. When you hear her in interviews, she is very candid these days about yearning to be free of the restraints on her. I feel that when she does a Beyonce and cuts her dad off, she will return to her game.
That, taking into account her legal troubles, may not be for quite a long time. [Edited 4/1/11 22:33pm]

um NO... 10 YEARS into janets career it was her best era... the janet era.... janet even at her worst is still better then britney.... GET REAL...

Nahhhh, Janet broke in 1986, babe. Not 1982. Janet came out in 1982.
In 1996, she came out with Design of a Decade and shortly after began recording The Velvet Rope. Her marriage at the time was also crumbling in a really dysfunctional way.
