I knew I couldn't be the only one that was LOVING this album. Even the packaging blows me away... even the photography... featuring Bootsy in no less than 3 complete outfits! Even the disc itself! It's clearly apparent that Bootsy spared no expense in the making of this CD. And whether the radio ever plays one note of it or not, this album is a HUGE hit... with me!

Well after going to 4 different places, confused , I finally got my copy from the only Mom and Pops store in town. lol Don't think about going to Best Buy if anyone's interested in buying this. Try your local record store. Anyway, can't wait to get in the right "mode" and listen to tonight. cool

Btw, it has a cool holographic cover!

Ironically, that's where I wound up purchasing mine (...for $10.99), after striking out at two other stores first. There was only one left after I bought mine. Either the store never had that many in stock to begin with, or REAL music lovers snatched those mothers up! I suspect the latter.

That song is some classic old school Funk! Could have easily come out on an album like "Bootsy? Player of The Year".

I didnt get any album art through Itunes and Im kinda pissed off about that. sad I wanna check it one more time just to make sure I didnt get any because I was looking forward to it. It wasnt at Target (I dont know why I thought it would have been there for any reason).

If you are a music aficionado, you would want this on CD anyway. I say that because I had originally downloaded this in lossless (FLAC) format (...I know, THE HORRORS!) and loved it so much, I had to have the actual CD. But one of the things I noticed was I wasn't getting the full dynamic range of songs like "Siento Bombo", even in lossless. But on CD, that song is AMAZING! I've never tried iTunes, but can only imagine the quality of those downloads would be a buzz-kill. Though I'm sure no one should be surprised that the actual CD sounds better than any download ever could. Moreover, aside from the music; the packaging of this CD makes it a worthwhile purchase.

(...hate when I have to edit a post, lol)

Yeah Im pretty pissed off that I cannot see any of the exclusive details so a bit of my experience was destroyed. Especially wondering what Jimi Hendrix interview that was pasted into Mirrors Tell Lies and other little tidbits I wondered about. Oh well, such as life. It is a bit of a long album..some could have been b-sides to internet singles or something like the last three tunes. They are very nice but kind of lean on the rest of the good stuff.

Honestly... I don't believe I had ever heard Jimi Hendrix's speaking voice before hearing him on this CD. With absolutely NO DISRESPECT or judgment intended, I had no idea he sounded so "stereotypically" gay. That sounds bad, even as I say it. But that's honestly what struck me when I heard him speaking on this CD.

Those last 3 songs literally ARE on the B-side, lol. But they are lovely tunes. The last 2 in particular are classic Bootsy love songs. No Bootsy album would be complete without a Bootsy love song. (...to each his own, lol).

For the most part, I'm completely DONE with rap. But realize, not all rap is bad. In this case, and in my opinion, the rap of Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, and Chuck D was a nice enhancement to "Hip Hop @ Funk U". I feel that they were rapping about something worthwhile, and that it was professionally executed. Plus, it's not like the entire album had a bunch of rappers on it. The three appeared on 1 song (for like less than one minute), out of 17 songs in total. Though I understand you would have preferred if they hadn't been on the album at all.
