back in the day, I had heard that Andrew's dad was loaded and funded Wham!'s efforts to become recording artists. Not even sure if this was true, but it always gave me the impression that George had the talent and Andrew was brought along because of Daddy Rich... and had no real talent. So, this is not true that Andrew was talentless rich kid?

So who did the writing in the group? And which songs can you hear Andrew singing?

George definitely had the talent. Andrew's only intent was to get girls. George's was to sing for millions of people. Andrew didn't even wanna do it anymore so when George told him he wanted to move on, Andrew was happy to oblige. Andrew did put out one album but his heart wasn't into it. He might've been pushed to do it but he faded from view after that. He and George are still friends to this day.

The live shows i saw tid bits of Andrew wasn't a bad guitar player... i thought he was pretty good, so to me he had some talent. He is just not George.....

Club Tropicana.... i guess having a co writing credit on it is ok but not like the song is poetry lol

But Careless Whisper i heard he got the co writing credit, but also head George wrote it when he was 16? hmmmm

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

That wasn't the only reason lol

One of the reason was because George didn't have the confidence to be a solo artist and Andrew was his support.

George was the one who wrote the songs Andrew co-wrote Wham Rap, Club Tropicana, and Careless Whisper) and sang lead, but Andrew was the one who came up with their image and style and was the group's spokeperson

Not only that, but Andrew was also the one who realized the group's situation with their contract first. The deal with Innervision wasn't a great one to say the least

In other words, Andrew was the group's organizer. lol
