New Order

Been on a massive New Wave/synthpop kick recently & been listening to a lot of these guys & of course Joy Division

I must say i love Joy Division, But a lot of people i know don't like to think New Order is a very legit band as Joy Division, True Ian Curtis was amazing an incredible talent.

I Find Bernard was a fantastic choice for a frontman he is a very talented guy and wrote/composed many great tunes.

Power,Corruption & Lies man what an album!

We All Stand & The Village are some amazing, fantastic performed song's, Your Silent Face is beautiful, Leave Me Alone is a great closer as well...

I have to give some props to Substance as well it was my first New Order album, and hearing the great b-sides like confusion, Blue Monday there monster hit & not to mention True Faith & 1963!

Bortherhood is another fine record with the amazing Paradise & Weirdo opening possibly therer 2 best opening track's for an album IMO

of course there classic Bizzare Love Triangle is also on the album, as well as Angel Dust

So what is everyones favorite New Order record?

Mine

1.Power, Corruption & Lies

2. Technique

3. Brotherhood

4. Low-Life

5. Substance

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Not sure I can do a top 5 list. Substance is a pretty phenomenal compilation (collecting 12" of singles -- album and non-album, as well as great b-sides). It'll always hold a high position on my list. I think their best, most complete, studio album is Technique (hard to believe they could follow up Substance with this). I really don't think they've ever produced a bad album, although Movement is definitely a transitional album (not quite JD, not quite NO). I also think their post-80s output has been really good, too. Sirens' Call wasn't bad, but it lacked a bit of the magic that Republic and Get Ready had. I'm also a big fan of Sumner's/Marr's three Electronic albums.
