Family Feud: Lennon Sisters vs. Sister Sledge 1983

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

That's a strange combination. Who are the Lennon Sisters? Are they John Lennon's sisters and were they even famous? A better sister combination would have been Sister Sledge going up against The Pointer Sisters. lol

The Lennon Sisters were a singing group starting out in the late 1950's. I guess you can call them easy listening pop, sort of like a non-psychedelic 5th Deminsion style harmony group. No they're not related to John, they're from the USA, not Liverpool. lol

They were waaaaay before my time. lol But it just goes to show how diverse television was back in those days compared to today. All those musical variety shows that had not only new guests stars of that current era, but also old stars from waaaaaaay back whether they were musical entertainers, film stars, or Broadway performers. Same with the guests of shows like Johnny Carson and "The Love Boat". I remember not knowing who the hell some of those guests were but older people were well aware of them and loved them. TV had something for everyone back in those days. These days, TV is just for kids only.
