Teen pop stars that play instruments...

...are almost more annoying than the ones who don't. It's pretentious and sucky. Alicia Keys, Vanessa Carlton, Michelle Branch, BB Mack or however the fuck you spell it, and Nick Carter trying to pose with an acoustic guitar can all suck my ass. Their posing is almost offensive. I would rather watch Britney prancing around acting like a flake than these wannabes trying to be serious.

barf!!!

there are alot of People that can play who are Pimped around like they can't&if they use there Voice as a Instrument they are told how to carry that as well.you can't really tell just How Talented some of these Acts are because the Industry places them in a Certain Formula Box.

NICK CARTER is the most untalented "musician" I have ever seen, whoever told him he can sing? he makes JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE look good.

nod my bĂȘte noire is Avril Lavigne - V Carlton sucks imo, a pseudo fake Tori - I think that Alicia is talented but that she doesn't deserve this early massive success and that it might kill her career
but
I confess
I like Michelle Branch at least for Everywhere (+ she's cute boxed )

Really? I can't get enough of it. There's geniune feeling in that song. No posing to be found. It reminds me of tragic junior high dances in a romanticized way.

Justin Timberlake has talent okay, you only pick on him cuz he's a pretty boy rolleyes Unlike these other posers, Justin Timberlake knows how 2 play insturments and he writes most of his lyrics... I will say once again Justin Timberlake is talented, if it wasn't 4 nsync u would feel the same way smile

Yeah it's hilarious! It's the "Please take me seriously" look on their faces that really makes me puke. Desperately hoping to expand their demographic of fans to those that have actually started shaving...boys and girls!

All Acts at one time or another want to be taken Serious for there Skills but the problem is that now Video Manipulates it more.a Act has to build from Touring so it doesn't seem so Contrived all the time.you are alright as long as the Teen Machine&your Record Company doesn't Water You Down it happen to Johnny Lang. The Cat has Chops but that Follow Up Album&whatnot kinda Hurt His Material on his 2nd Album.

I see what you're saying, i just think its the really overt way that these acts do it. It's not as if their music is any more mature lyrically or musically infact a lot of those acts associate growing up with being boring and writing introspective ballads..oh and the holding a guitar. Its like one huge leap that like you said feels contrived.
