1. Disintegration - It's a bit too long, but it's my favorite.

2. Wish - I just like it. It's almost like Mr. Smith attempted to by happy in a few moments on the album. lol

3. Standing on the Beach -- I know, I know...I'm cheating because it's a compilation of older material, but I lurved it when it was cassette. lol

The cure's last few albums have been complete meh...but so has Morrissey's...so I guess that battle still rages. lol

You're a real fucker. You act like you own this place--ParanoidAndroid <-- about as witty as this princess gets! lol
I hope everyone pays more attention to Sags posts--sweething mushy

I don't listen to them much anymore, and when I do hear them I don't feel much compulsion to listen further, but they were definitely one of my favourites at one point and they are still part of my musical vocabulary.

Nice to see you! smile

You too!

For some reason I thought they were just a notch above Depeche Mode on your dislike scale. I remember some poll that was on here and I think you might have given them a 3 or 4 out of 10. So it's nice to see that you still have some love for Big Bob. Makes sense that their debut would be your fave with all the Wire influence.

You have an absolutely freakish memory (I mean that nicely). That was almost four years ago! lol

I gave them a four. I do remember being a little harsh in my ratings because I was striving for a mean and median of five.

And I like the first album the best exactly for the reasons you gave. That record also listens like a less aggressive Buzzcocks as well in places.

Aw yeah, I had that on cassette way back in the day, with the 12 b-sides on the flip! I think I played the b-side more than the a-side.

Wish is the one that I've listened to the most. It's not what I'd call their (or his) best album, but the songs on it have just clicked with me for some reason.

Recently I've been giving more spins to Faith, because it's more subtle in a way. That and Head On The Door.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

That version of "Lullaby" is the first The Cure track that I really got hooked on. Because I got that record first it was sort of hard to get into their more typical guitar-oriented sound when I started to go through their "real" albums next.

1. Disintegration (Yeah, kind of predictable, but this album has "Lullaby", "Prayers For rain", "Lovesong", "One", "pictures Of you")

2. Kiss Me Kiss Me (my favourite Cure's song, "Just like Heaven" is on it cool )

3. Head on The Door

4. Faith

5. Pornography

... Did I mention my fave Cure's song?

Everybody is somebody, but nobody wants to be themselves.
