RIP Nate Dogg.... the voice of so many classics... there has yet to be anyone worthy of taking his place as the "king of hooks" on hip-hop tracks....
I don't think he ever fully recovered from those two strokes that he had.... |

We lose all the greats only to be stuck with "musicians" who don't give a damn

His best hook for me is in the St. Ides commercial with Cube: "Just hit the corner store / You know I'm looking for - St. Ides". I am Sir Nose, devoid of funk

Some under-rated Nate performances - Tupac's "Skandalouz", "Teardrops & Closed Caskets" and "How Long Will They Mourn Me", 213's "So Fly" and "Groupie Luv".... his own "Hardest Man In Town" and "First We Pray"....... Nate had so many classics!!!
I remember how happy I was to pick up this, the first time I hit up Amoeba in SF in the late 90's.... you could only get this album on import in the UK and it was hella expensive!!!

Aww, naw! I hope this is a false alarm. Most sites are crediting the same source as posted here. TMZ supposedly confirmed it but has since removed the story.
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

What is sad about this is he died broke after all those hits he sung on….& couldn’t pay his medical bills. Where was all those artist that he help make there songs a hit at? Especially Dr. Dre. Warren G had to try to help him raise money. The industry is so selfish. I remember working in a music video he was in years ago…r.i.p. Nate will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

That's a great jam. Good atmosphere and infectious hooks sang by Nate.

A West Coast classic. Very effective use of instrumentation, rhymes and Nate's voice. Rap in peace.

This is really sad news. I read about it on a friend´s FB page. May he rest in peace.
Wonder why none of those millionaires that he sang for helped him with his medical bills. I mean, how stingy and greedy can you be? " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

It's not a compilation, it's his debut album. Full liner notes, lots of photos and credits. I guess most of the songs were probably released on different compilations after the fact, but this is the tracklist:
Disc 1
Disc 2:
It was all recorded at Death Row, but after the label fell apart when 'Pac died and Suge went to jail, he was able to release it independently in 1998.
