Beyonce Cuts Management Ties With Father

Beyoncé and her father are going their separate ways. The superstar will no longer be managed by her father Mathew Knowles, it was announced today.

The Grammy-winning singer’s publicist released a statement to The Associated Press revealing that Beyoncé and Mathew have split “on a business level.” While they may no longer have a professional relationship, a grateful Beyoncé adds, “He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly.”

Knowles managed his daughter since the start of her career as a member of Destiny’s Child and for her three solo albums. She is currently working on her fourth studio album, but new management has not been announced.

Her Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams previously split from Knowles to pursue solo careers.

This will make or break her career. And she IS approaching 30, even if I don't think it's old.

Wrong decision. She'll regret it.

I don't know why people are saying this, maybe she'll actually evolve. How long could she have stayed under her parents' thumb? Soon enough she may break off professional ties with her mother too...

Family >>>>> Anybody else. Careers tend to go downhill when this happens.

Janet doesn't count. She didn't experience success beforehand.

With all the baggage her father has, me thinks this is a good career move for her.

Exactly. He's as bad as Joseph Jackson when it comes to business. His only claim to fame (like Joe Jackson and Joe Simpson) was managing his children but anything past that is a fail.

Beyonce & Manager Dad Mathew Knowles OFFICIALLY Part Ways

After rumors of a strained relationship have floated heavily for some time now, Beyonce Knowles has just officially parted ways with her long-time (and only) manager--her father Mathew Knowles.

They've had arguably the most successful popstar run where parent-child manager-celebrity relationships are concerned. Beyonce has become one of the biggest pop divas in the world, and it's well known that her father, Mathew Knowles, is the major reason for her success.

But after a business relationship spanning almost two decades, Beyonce has officially split from her manager dad.

In a statement through her long-time publicist Yvette Noel-Schure, Mrs. Knowles-Carter told The Associated Press that she and her father have parted ways "on a business level."

Beyonce says in the statement that she is grateful for the role her father has had in her career. And she adds that "he is my father for life and I love my dad dearly."

Mathew--who currently manages acts like Tiffany Evans and Sunshine Anderson--has managed Beyonce from day one, and was the vision and business mind behind Destiny's Child and the record breaking star's expanding solo career. It'll be interesting to say the least to see how this next album and next publicity run goes off without him.

It's also been rumored that the two, who used to be extremely close, have had a strained relationship for years--and it became worse after Jay-Z married into the family, and after last year's scandal of Mathew fathering another baby outside his marriage to Tina Knowles. Not everybody's going to love having a secret half-brother all up in the mix.

Insiders tell us there's more truth to those rumors than the public wants to believe. Especially because there's a good chance Bey will now be (possibly secretly) managed by her husband's Roc Nation Management Group.

That didn't work out so well with Gary Coleman, Brooke Shields, Sharon Osbourne, & Tiffany. Nor the brothers in Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Kinks, & The Black Crowes.

What a minute I thought Beyonce could do no wrong to some people here? What’s the big fuss over her getting rid of daddy? You don’t think she can succeed on her own? Don’t change your tune now people. lol

I want her to succeed and she may get creative freedom too as someone already said, but I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't taken seriously anymore and sales dropped or something. It is a new decade too.

Say what you want about papa Knowles, but the man was an excellent manager to her. Buying grammys and song credits. Sabotaging anybody he thought would be her competition. He got the job done.

I bet if this new era of hers is unsuccessful, people will point to this as the cause for it.

Huh? Of course he is. He bought her her entire career. If he could've bought her Grammys, he would've done that too.

Ask Latoya and Latavia what the man is capable of. Their lives were nearly ruined.

He was pretty much shut out since the middle of the B'Day era so it's not like it matters. And if her own statement is any indication, she'll pretty much be managing herself... like she probably did the previous era.

iSnatch, iRead, iDrag. For Beysus and in general. Simple.
