Marvin is the G.O.A.T. as far as I'm concerned. He can't do any wrong. What cd is this version on?

I have Midnight Love and the song sounds slightly different. Is the name of the cd you are referring to called "Midnight Love and the Sexual Healing Sessions"?

Yep. It's not on the original album.

Love the original vocal version with the original words. Really wish he had released that version. I mean i like the official version, but those lyrics...nod

Marvin was put into a corner by Harvey Fuqua over this song. Marvin originally thought the vocal version he did (the one where he gets all spiritual - my personal favorite as well) would be great. This version I posted would've been better than the one on the album. I don't think Marvin was happy with the version that ended up on the record but Harvey said "you haven't had a hit in five years, let people be reminded about why you are who you are." And Marvin really didn't wanna do it but he compromised or at least tried to.
