Harvey Fuqua, God bless his soul, and Gordon Banks did a horrible edit of this song on Dream of a Lifetime, Bootsy Collins provided a fine production of this song in its alternate cut, from the Here, My Dear expanded edition.

Still a little perturbed Germany keeps blocking some videos but whatever lol least it ain't blocked worldwide like my last four uploads (besides "Sunshine").

I don't have the "Hear, My Dear" cd..the original or expanded. I need to get them. Marvin is the only person that can spell a word out and make it sound good!!! F.U.N.N.Y.....

I agree...the version of this cut from Dream of a Lifetime wasn't flattering to me either, but this version rocks. I adore the second disc of new alternate cuts of the Here, My Dear (Expanded Edition). Hip-O Select did their thing on that one. Bootsy's production on this cut is FONKY! You gotta listen to this cut blasted on a great pair of headphones to understand what I'm saying.

I believe this cut was on a Marvin compilation called The Funk Collection that was release a couple of years before the release of this expanded edition of Here, My Dear. I forgot how much I loved it, but this is the best version of this cut.

Yeah, I remember the collection (I didn't cop it) but I saw it around. I was afraid it didn't have the full version of "Got to Give It Up" so I decided to pass on it.

Hear, My Dear may be Marvin's best record.
