Hello all,

Recently I have been wanting to go to a concert for a major act. I would rather pay money for a great seat (somewhere in the first 12 rows or so) and only go once a year than get seats 40 rows back and go to 3 different acts per year.

A couple of years ago, I actually skipped class to get tickets on a Ticketmaster presale - I am reasonably sure the band had no fan club with special offers. I refreshed the page constantly (every second from 10 seconds left all the way down to the precise moment they went on sale) and bought the first tickets they gave me, which was about in row 20 or 21 at the highest dollar value level. The event was in a decent sized city, but nothing really that big.

I have never been able to get great seats except at general admission concerts by gettng to the venue early. I really don't have time to scrounge different sources for tickets - but as long as its on the internet, that is no problem. Is there really a lot of effort that needs to be spent getting these tickets, and if so, what do I have to do? I can go on Ebay 2 days after tickets go on sale and they double the price of tickets that I can't even get my hands on. What is the secret!?!? Also, it seems you have to know they are going on tour before you hear about it (by then, its too late). Aside of constantly checking every website for every band you would like to see - how do you all keep up?

I was able to get 3rd row seats for a concert. I was in line at the box office, calling ticketmaster on my cell and had my sister at home on the internet all at the same time, and my sister was the 1st one to get the tickets.
