Johnny used to boast that this was the first rap track ever put out. lol Well it surely WAS one of the first, if not THE first. lol

I don't know when the song was recorded, but Johnny's album was released in 1980, and there were several rap records in 1979.

Yeah it was recorded in late 1979 but wasn't released until after '79 lol

Criminally underrated would be an understatement when it comes to someone like Johnny. Dude never really got his props either. He was a flashy guitarist and he also mastered the talk box later in his career.
