Inner City ~ Good Life You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

One of my favorite cuts, by them. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

I like the way the singer looks really happy in the video too. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. As a DJ, I played this and their other cut, "Big Fun", very often.

Where they from England? The music sounded European.

Nope. I believe they were from, Chicago. This was what Chicago "House", sounded like. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Wrong! Kevin Sanderson (one of the co-founders of the genre Techno with Juan Atkins & Derrick May) & Paris Grey were from Detriot. [Edited 3/23/11 20:40pm]

Wrong! Inner City were from Detriot. Back in the 1980's, Techno started off as a sound that was very like Electro & House.

Not a problem.
There was a time during the 1980's when a DJ could play synth-pop, electro, electro-funk/synth-funk, house, techno, italo disco, and (Latin) freestyle in the same mix and everything would make perfect sense because these genres were made with synths & drum machines.
