The thing is the seperation has become apparent since the late 90's the soundscan era where it became more important to debut number 1 than to actually get out and play shows, and thats why you have morons thinking that there downloads of a single and topping the charts will get them a bi check, well it wont. I can gurantee you that say ....Duran Duran from their recent Web Streaming Concert made more on that one deal, than Rihanna has made selling her albums easily. Artists need to get wise or know how to invest that money, because the top of the charts and gold albums are nothing more than someone else's payday.

It's time the older school artists teach the younger artists how to run their shows and to make sure their success don't go to their heads. Debuting at number-one is not always important.

I like ri ri but not enough to see her live , she's a big artist so you would think she can sell out arenas but she's not a good performer.

But big doesnt get you into arenas, you have to have some kind of show if you arent a ...band, and to be honest, alot of the lacking of support is coming from the RB/POP artists who are selling but not "selling" where it matters, i mean Beyonce and ALicia Keys together couldnt sell out Madison Square Garden, and thats your biggest RB females right there from the last decade or so, so if they cant pull it off why would Rihanna be able too? I mean shes pretty, but so is Kim Kardashian , and im not going to put down 100 bucks to hear her sing, maybe for something else, but not singing.

Well that’s why I said she’s not a good performer in my post lol she’s not a artist that you must see live she only good for the radio and that’s it. I wouldn't see beyonce or alicia either lol

She cant sing.

She cant dance.

She has no stage presence.

Why would anyone buy a ticket?

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) -Contrary to reports that dates from her "Loud" tour have been canceled due to poor ticket sales, several sources, including one at the concert promoter Live Nation, say reports that Rihanna's North American tour is struggling with poor sales are inaccurate. According to the source -- who is in a position to know -- 30 shows in North America are on pace for sellouts even though they won't play until June and July.

Furthermore, not only are hip-hop/R&B shows historically known to be late-selling, the entire live business has trended more to a late-buying sales pattern during the economic downturn.
Earlier this week The New York Post's Page Six reported that Rihanna's Roc Nation manager, Jay Brown, advised her to cancel domestic dates of the tour. Still, Rihanna has already sold out 56 arenas in Europe.

Why would she? She isn't that big of a performer. What has she done to even have the audacity to think that she could sell out an arena?
