Inner City ~ Good Life

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

As a DJ, I played this and their other cut, "Big Fun", very often.

Nope. I believe they were from, Chicago. This was what Chicago "House", sounded like.

Wrong! Kevin Sanderson (one of the co-founders of the genre Techno with Juan Atkins & Derrick May) & Paris Grey were from Detriot. wink

Wrong! Inner City were from Detriot. Back in the 1980's, Techno started off as a sound that was very like Electro & House.

Not a problem. cool

There was a time during the 1980's when a DJ could play synth-pop, electro, electro-funk/synth-funk, house, techno, italo disco, and (Latin) freestyle in the same mix and everything would make perfect sense because these genres were made with synths & drum machines.
