I am so surprised at how many worthy gems that I've uncovered on his 2001 J-Records self-titled release. This is a great cut. Can't believe I've overlooked this album as it is good. This is what Dance With My Father lacked alot of. Classic Luther!

This is a great song, and a great album from Luther. I felt like he was really on point with this album.
I thought I was the only one who thought Dance With My Father was lacking also. I know people love that cd- but I think a lot of that was about it being Luther's last album.

Yes-I feel that was the appeal of that album. It had some good songs on it, but it wasn't a strong release overall. A lot of the success of that album was built on its title track really.
With the self-titled J-Records release, the songs actually worked. Alot of people give Lutha's post-80's output alot of flack, but I feel that he released some great albums in the 90's onward. This was definitely one of them. Unfortunately, people got so caught up on Luther's weight loss and the "Can I Take You Out?" single/video that they missed this impressive gem of an album.

True. I think albums like Never Let Me Go, Power of Love even I Know are great.
