Whoever helped Michael with the tracklist selection for Invincible needs to be shot!!

The outtakes have proven that there is a huge wealth of tracks which never made the album, a lot of which are amongst the strongest material he recorded around that time. Why wasn't Hollywood Tonight on the album?? The very thing Invincible seemed to lack was catchy uptempo dance tracks (with the exception of YRMW, most fans seem to agree that Invincible's best tracks were it's ballads). HT would've fit perfectly onto the album and could've been the standout track the album so badly needed.

I also feel that the second half of the album is just dull. Starting with 2000 Watts up to Cry, that whole part of the album has no sequence and just doesn't flow at all. Cry should never have made the final cut, why didn't they go with the infinately more inspired We've Had Enough??

It seems to me that when it came to selecting which tracks to use for the album, they were more concerned with putting together a record which could compete with the new generation of popstars like N Sync and Britney Spears than just selecting the best tracks.

Look at this 13 track album I put together, I personally feel this would've been a much stronger, tighter album:

1. Unbreakable

2. Hollywood Tonight

3. Butterflies

4. You Rock My World

5. Another Day

6. Speechless

7. Escape

8. Heartbreaker

9. You Are My Life

10. We've Had Enough

11. The Lost Children

12. Whatever Happens

13. Threatened

I still don't think that would've been as good as HIStory or Dangerous, but at least it's a solid effort. There's three standout killer tracks (HT, Speechless and WHE) and I've taken away the awkward second half which goes from uptempo to ballad to uptempo to ballad. Any thoughts?

Song-for-song it was infinitely stronger than Prince's output during the same period.

I think invincible was just following what was hot at that time it’s hard to compare that album to his old material. It still was better than a lot of other albums out it just wasn’t good compared to Michael standards but what you said about holding back his best material could be true as well.

Whether or not this is true, it didn't matter Friday night when Prince played the Forum in Inglewood, California during his "21 Nite Stand" tour. The "Purple Rain" singer paid homage to the King Of Pop. When performing a cover of The Time's "Cool," Prince's 7-member band the New Power Generation fused the song with a rendition of Michael's "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" from his "Off The Wall" album. It was subtle. Prince didn't offer any set up or explanation, but the crowd loved it. For this part of the show, Prince pulled on stage VIP guests, protege Sheila E. and Academy Award winning actor Cuba Gooding, Jr., to join the party.

A surprisingly wild Cuba ended up tossing his jacket off the stage. Prince also acknowledged Michael during an interpolation of Kool And The Gang's "Hollywood Swingin'" that he dubbed "Inglewood Swingin'." An original lyric refers to seeing Kool And The Gang in concert.Prince altered the artist name to Michael Jackson.

Prince also paid a nice compliment to Alicia Keys. The new mom and wife was a surprise guest who sang as a duet with Prince his song "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore?" the b-side to his hit "1999." Alicia's version appears on her 2001 debut, "Songs In A Minor." Alicia was at her vocal best, and had the new mom afterglow even in simple fitted black pants, coat, heels, and hair pulled back in a basic bun. Prince fawned over Alicia. After she joined him at his purple grand piano for the song, he pumped his hands in the air, and chanted "What about this? What about this?" He referred to her as "beauty personified" and literally patted himself on the chest in awe.

When Alicia sang "How come you don't call me anymore?" during one run through of the chorus, Prince joked that it might have something to do with her husband Swizz Beats. Prince was having such a good time that he commented that he had too many hits, and even dismissed his lack of radio airplay as of late. "I don't care if I'm never on the radio again. I love music," he said. During his 1-hour-and-40 minute set on a custom stage shaped like his famous logo, he offered newer songs and classic hits, "Purple Rain," "Cream," "Adore," "Raspberry Beret," "Let's Work," "Sign O The Times," "Darling Nikki," "If I Was Your Girlfriend," "Dance, Music, Sex, Romance," and "Controversy."
