According 2 this lady Michael sang songs LIVE !! (MJ just happen to have forgotten to turn on the microphone XD)
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
He didn't forget. He planned it out when the microphone would be turned up. If you watch closely, he'd make hand gestures to the musical director or the people in the back to turn up his mic
and you're right, he sang live, he'd sing along with the backing tape. That's why there's soundboard recordings with him singing live to the lipped songs [Edited 4/21/11 23:53pm] "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. IS it just me or do you also have problems with playing youtube videos? They keep on stopping. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I just suffer through that problem earlier this morning... YouTube always go through glitches. Shit while editing my new channel, I couldn't even save the theme/color I wanted to save it in initially. It got through though.

i never got why (especially singing the 'off the wall' tracks on the HIStory tour) he could not have recorded tracks that were pitched lower specifically for the shows, so at least there would be a modicum of realism, if indeed he was going to be singing to canned music. and the 'thriller' tracks as well. that to me was the biggest disappointment about the HIStory tour. i actually liked the tour. but that bugged me to no end. it bugged me even more how the songs were edited together. i DID like how the 'scream/they don't care about us/she drives me wild/in the closet' set was edited though.
and weren't there a few dates on the HIStory tour where he actually sang 'billie jean' live? and 'black and white' was not one of my favourite ones he did in concert (i like when he kept the set simple), but i did like when he sang it live, for the first shows. and 'in the closet' was off and on live... at least with the spoken part. there were a few times his microphone was turned on (and his breathing was quite audible), and it didn't switch where it was supposed to, back to the chorus. so you heard the surprise in his voice- but he went on with the show.
and the madison square garden 'smooth criminal' performance i think was initially live, then he lipsynced much of it on the final nights there, if i'm not mistaken. i love that performance actually, because it's pretty bare-bones... i like the houdini lean done later, but i also love it when they didn't do it too.
and 'man in the mirror' is actually one of the hardest michael songs to sing, but i would have loved it if he sang it at least once live. 'she's out of my life' and 'human nature' i think are harder to sing, and he always sang those live...
yeah, it would have been amazing to hear everything pitched lower...

all the ones i highlighted i have seen... my favourite ones definitely are the brisbane and yokohama ones. but i really like the roma, paris, london and new york ones. [Edited 4/22/11 2:29am]

Thanks. Good to know it wasn't just me and that it's not my computer. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. Dewende are so awesome. Their album is a free download at their site and brilliant it is too.

I almost never like when other artists cover MJ's music. He's kinda like Prince in that sense - his songs were his, no one else should really even bother trying "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

For those who don't know, the stream of the Tokyo '88 performance of Smooth Criminal has been cancelled "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

WHORES! | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
They would cancel shit.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
some people already have it so it'll probably leak "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Right! | |

So I heard there’s going to be a Michael II but no concert releases?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Well, there goes any hope creativity.
Really now!? Enough with the self-titled albums and fan tributes! There's so much more potential here and they're letting it die.
I swear..If I EVER win the lottery or come up with a ton of money in my lifetime...I'll buy Sony music, and put bboy87, Timmy84, Militant, ViintageJunkiie, and NMuzakNSoul in charge or releasing Michael's music, directing music videos, EVERYTHING. You guys are freakin' brilliant. I'd trust you with that...

They are doing an awful job with his posthumous material it's unbelievable.

Shows you how much they "respect" his catalog...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I know there is so much they can release a crappy video game ( I prefer a Rockband of him to be honest) and a new album is not going to cut it. They make money off of him when it comes to tell all's but not his music.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
You think his passing would do the opposite in helping to make money from his music but I kinda knew this was going to happen.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Or did they feel it was more convenient the year he died but not now to put out anything I don’t know. Either way it’s a wasted opportunity.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Could be. It's fucked up either way.
