As I left La Cigale yesterday evening with the chanting of " We're the kids! We're the kids!" ringing in my head? I got to a-thinkin'...could Kim Wilde possibly be better than Prince?

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I put it to you:

1.Like Prince, 30 years later Kim is still going strong ....but unlike Prince, our Kim isn't afraid to include songs from her new album in the set.

2. 30 years later, Kim is faithful to old band members. Standling proudly by her side last night was her brother Ricky. Her band also features the fab Nick Beggs from 80s legends Kajagoogoo.

Not for Kim a Wendy-and-Lisa -style schism!

3. "America" by P is a great song...but is there any better song with the word " Amercia" in the title than "Kids in America"????...the answer is an obvious "no"!

4. Kim's father was 60s legend Marty Wilde. All Prince's father did was run around breaking furniture and saying things like " You clean this house!!!". Family stability is a real plus in life.

5. Kim likes animals. Last night she dedicated a song " Jessica" to her pet dog. Prince has never written songs about his pets.

6. Kim didn't charge 300€ for tickets. I had two hours of hits for the princely sum ( no pun intended ) of 39€60.

7. Kim has presented a gardening program on British TV. The most "organic" thing Prince has ever done is the keyboard solo in Hot Thing during the SOTT movie.

8. Kim supported Micheal Jackson on the Bad tour. She would never diss the great MJ.

9. Kim doesn't wear a wig.

10. Kim has never made a movie as crap as Graffitti bridge

I could go on and on, but I hope that these ten points can persuade some of you that our favourite "Love Blonde" might, just might, be better than Prince.

There are a lot of similarities.

Prince is quite healthy, but Kim already featured in the Holland & Barrett Health Shop commericals.

Prince stopped growing at about 13, where Kim has released two professional gardening books, so she is growing all the time.

Prince build a digital garden, but Kim lives in the lovely village of Tewin, just outside an official Garden City (Welwyn).

In 82, Kim already had "View from a bridge". Prince had top copy the idea with Grafitti 8 years later.

Lastly, I have met Prince on three occasions, and mostly he was a nob. I live a few miles up the road from Kim and have seen her at a few village fetes and she was lovely.

I sat next to Kim Wilde on an Easyjet flight to Denmark a few years ago. Time has added a few stone and a couple of kids, but she smells nice and that makes her tops in my book.
