Nile Rodgers has announced that he is cancer free.

The Chic guitarist and legendary producer revealed that he had been fighting an aggressive form of the disease in January.

However, writing on his blog at Nilerodgers.com, he revealed: "Today, my test results said I was 'Cancer-Free'. I was very happy."

He went onto write that this good news was tempered by the unfolding tragedies occurring in Japan.

"I do not feel comfortable talking about my good fortune when I am so worried about the people of Japan," he wrote. "I did not take a walk today... today is bittersweet."

Congrats Nile.

I ws thinking about Nile the other day. That's fantastic.

Hopefully there will be a cure to beat the shit out of cancer one day.
