Those two Syreeta albums she did with Stevie are a must have. And this song is very sad...It's about their own breakup. I heard that Stevie started dating quickly after their divorce.

yeah, 'you are the sunshine of my life' is about gloria barley. needless to say, the man got around. but apparently he was no slouch as a youngster either. AND he's got seven kids!!!
The music in those two first albums sound so personal, you could tell that Stevie and Syreeta bared their souls in these songs. The good and the bad.
Yes and this is why if you're a stevie and syreeta fan those two albums are a MUST HAVE. I feel like if you're getting Stevie's classic 1971-1980 (imo) run material these two albums should be included as well as minnie's perfect angel and jermaine jackson's let's get serious.

Syreeta wrote the lyrics from her heart too. I always thought Syreeta was often the lyrical person in their compositions. Stevie used a lot of other writers to complete his music whenever he didn't know what to write (I think Chaka Khan wrote the lyrics to "Tell Me Something Good" but didn't fight with Stevie over writing rights).

True they were an incredible duo. Yvonne Wright helped as well. Although Stevie has written some amazing lyrics over time himself!
