I remember Stevie doing this classic and "Lovin' You" for the Soul Train tribute episode for Minnie. Love how he did that:

I did like that. Don's expressions as Stevie sang it was all I needed. That woman meant a lot to people then and now. Love the entire tribute episode too.

Oh man just on the phone the other day we was talking on Minnie and I said perfect Angel was my fave song (and album) by her!

Yes. And what Stevie said before he performed put everything into perspective in terms of her success and adaptability. He hit it right on the head! Her whole catalog of music was art that wasn't fully appreciated by the masses. I'm glad I appreciated (and appreciate) it!

yes indeed! minnie was/IS a QUEEN. this is my favourite song from ms. ripperton. STEVIE is playing drums here too!

One of my Favs from Minnie Riperton, WOW her voice is AWESOME and she has such good control and makes it seem so easy.Her singing her songs in her upper register CLEARLY is hard but she makes it seem like a piece of cake.
