A great one from Quincy and I like the stuff he did on his 1981 album also. However, I hated all that shit that was on his album from either 1989 or 1990.

Andy is a four letter word.

'Back On The Block' (1989) wink

and yes,I agree with you.'The Dude' (1981) is the last great Quincy Jones album. After that, his albums became bloated, overblown affairs with a million guest stars and rappers, lol.

I knew I was captured
By the rhythm of the magic flute
Pulling and urging me
To taste the forbidden fruit
Tho' I felt naive
I did not want to leave
Fever was in the air
All of a sudden, I didn't care
No reason why, I just had to testify

great lyrics. cool

music

LOVE the bridge to this song. Tremendous album. Superwoman, Tell Me A Bedtime Story... Quincy was peaking at this time. This album was almost like a foundation to Off The Wall. This was the beginning of the "A-Team".

I have always loved the lyrics to this song. It's very mysterious....they never really explain exactly what they're talking about, they just give little hints....

it was not high you could go,but exactly how low

I can't tell you what I saw....makes you wonder if it's against the law

forbidden fruit? hmmm the magic flute?

What exactly is going on at that party?! lol

Makes one wonder, doesn't it? biggrin

There's something to be said for subtlety isn't it? With some songs the songwriter appears to invite the listener to use their imagination or interpret what's being said... what's happening. It's such a sensuous song with a lil' funk thrown in, Mr. Jones at his very best.

Exactly.I like the way this song is written. You have to use your own imagination to figure it out and interpret it any way you like.
