The Marlon Jackson sound

This topic may seem like a joke at first but I think you will agree when you listen to the examples I link in the post.

I noticed the last days by listening to some old Jacksons stuff that Marlon has a certain sound that he used in a lot of the songs he wrote. The sound is somewhat inspired by Michael's WBSS I think.

Here are some songs Marlon wrote and produced. The first two are from Janet's second album. The third song is from The Jacksons Victory album and the last song is from Marlon's solo album which he performed on The Late show.

Marlon wrote this with his wife Carol and Barry White.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
