Not sure if I'd call White Heat a masterpiece but True Blue is a great pop album. Papa Don't Preach, La Isla Bonita, True Blue, Live To Tell, Open Your Heart, Where's The Party all of those are great.

Jackie Jackson (yes the one from the J5) and Richard Marx sing background vocals on this song. smile

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

yeah, I like this a lot. the remaining non-single from the album that COULD have been a good single. i think it was a b-side several times and i wish that on one of those releases we'd gotten a version without the lengthy intro.

This is when Madonna became an artist to me, Like A Virgin was eh to me honestly...

True Blue had Papa Don't Preach, Live To Tell, White Heat, Where's The Party, Open Your heart, La Isla Bonita

Just good stuff(; cool

oops, how'd I forget that Where's The Party wasn't a real single? wow, I'm slipping. okay, White Heat is the SECOND remaining nonsingle that could have been a good single. lol

ever since mariah and all these all artists have been approaching madonna's degree of chart success, i was thinking that madonna also had a bunch of songs that were extremely popular but never released as singles or didnt chart that high:

where's the party - always played on the radio and still is today.

spotlight - top 5 easy, if not then a #1 - this was consistently the #1 requested song on the NY top 40 station.

into the groove - wasnt an 'official' single, right ? didnt chart in the US

gambler - would have been top 5

physical attraction - the crossover station in NY back in the day, used to play this like crazy

burnin up - should have been re-released after the first album broke

over and over - always on the radio, treated like a single.. just never released in the US

Her first album is ok, Like A Virgin is eh...., True Blue is good when she came to form in my mind as a good artist.

Then Like A Prayer is when she became great cool

I have always thought that White Heat was the best non single on True Blue. Maybe not a masterpiece but very catchy.

True Blue is my least favorite of all her album, i think...idk why but i never have a mind to listen to that disc. Every other album comes across my stereo or ipod semi frequently...hell i even bumped 'Like A Virgin' (the album) today...this one, ugh...has her two WORST songs (did you do it being number 3) -- the last 2 ... unreal bad...

I love White Heat though. I think it was the B side to 'Who's That Girl' ...

I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Yes! His voice is so unique when I was reading the credits I was like it has to be that Jackie Jackson. Love love love this song. The whole True Blue album is amazing, one of Madonnas best albums. Actually I love that whole era, she was like a cartoon character, really just perfect in every way album, filmclips, tour and YES even the movie.

Big time agree with that opinion! I'm still in shock at how overrated that album is by her fans. Its actually really really mediocre to me. Like A Virgin I feel has better songs in general and better production.

One More Chance isn't on True Blue. lol

sorry, give me Jimmy Jimmy, Love Makes The World Go Round, and Can't Stop over One More Chance any day.
