Which MJ album/cd??? And more importantly how many copies are we talking about? Last week it sold one copy & this week its up to 1000? To MJ being #1 is the only chart postion that matters. Top twenty don't mean shit.

This from Yahoo! Entertainment News:
But it's not all bad news for Jackson. Sales of Thriller rose 500 percent at HMV stores in England after the documentary aired. (Thriller has sold 26 million copies domestically since its 1982 release, while his last album Invincible proved not so unbeatable with only 2 million copies sold in the U.S.) In Britain, both Thriller and HIStory are back in the Top 100.
Ah, what a genius he is. |

Ah, what a genius he is. But,how well is 'Invincible' doing since that interview aired? I would think people would be rushing out to buy his newest work.

Funky...yer a cool as fuck guy-but that's just plain WRONG!! As fas ar papers report it-the only one that is gonna chart is Greatest Hits Vol 1, at number 75. The percentages sound cool-but they arent. Thriller increased by 500% sounds good-but infact,it only sold 375 more than normal-not THAT much!!

Shame you don't have a Selectadisc near you. They're selling that mutha for £9.99. I live in Nottingham and there is a selectadisc here. Ive been to the one in London and the most miserable people in the world work at those stores. I tell you they need to lay off the crack..

I watched the MJ: 30th Anniversary concert tonight (also on ITV), wonder how many of those who bought into the documentary hype came around when the music was at the centre?
That said they'd be right not to, it was so cringeworthingly corny and lame. Some of the freaks in audience paid thousands of dollars to see it too.

It tells you that people are indeed shallow and mindless sheep who will internalise virtually anything you present to them on television.. god bless the human (dis)(g)race.

I am not saying Jackson is a paedophile but i find it disturbing that he gets a sales boost after admitting to having a 12 year old over for a sleep over.

The same people feigning disgust at MJ are perversely suddenly drawn to his music yeah. Strange stuff. That said in two weeks time nobody will be talking about this anymore, just a sudden surge of outrage that'll pass and leave MJ disturbed yet undisturbed in Neverland.

So just how well did Michael Jackson do in the UK charts, having attracted so many viewers, many of whom reportedly viewed him more favourably after the broacst.
the UK charts reported his Greatest Hits Album storming into the charts at ... #37. Unfortunately, despite having attracted such viewing figures and with outlets having seen nothing like it since the days of 'Thriller', the album was the week's lowest new entry into the top 40, being pipped to the post by the following new entries: Kelly Rowland, Lisa Stansfield, Ella Fitzgerald, Hell Is For Heroes, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Barry White, Barbra Streisand, Nat King Cole, Josh Groban and Pet Shop Boys. Still I suppose he's lacking any record company push and everyone owns all of his albums, so all that stuff from earlier in the week about him being a top 20 certainty was just people being a tad over-zealous - and not sheep willing to believe every bit of Jackson good news that people manage to fabricate ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift. |
