Sun...
How can I thank you
You've warmed my heart and soul
You've made my body brown and smooth
Washed away the cold
Moon...
You've made a dreamer out of me
I can see, and I think I can feel it when you
Change your face
Please forgive me if I turn away
I'm just a sleeper
I know that you watch my dreams
You're my heavenly keeper

Her most haunting performance to date. You could hear Joni Mitchell's influence rubbed off on her when she wrote this song.

My FAVE album. Its a shame we don't have the "deluxe edition" treatment from all of the Chaka/Rufus albums. I'm sure they're sitting on a good handful of unreleased music.

I wonder why Warners won't do anything special with the Rufus and Chaka Khan catalog.Even the 'Best Of' compilation is cheap and skimpy, leaving out many important tracks.I want deluxe editions of these albums and maybe a really good 2-disc compilation that covers everything.

Don't get me started on Warners . . . . those people are bad news. It's by the grace of God Rufus and Ms. Khan even had a career dealing with that company. They ain't right.

Warner Brothers doesn't own the Rufus and Chaka catalog. Universal does. Rufus only recorded "Stompin' At the Savvoy" on the Warner label. The rest were on the ABC/MCA imprint.

that's what I was thinking

I would love some deluxe editions

of these albums myself

I have them all on vinyl (some of them on CD)

but this will give me a legit reason

to buy them again!lol

Wel wait a minute confused Less be clear because it doesn't take much for me to get confused. lol

Universal may own Rufus catalog but they don't own Chaka Khan solo discography, Warners owns her catalog, well most of . . . with the exception of an album or two, three albums.

I think Kit was only referring to the Rufus catalog.

This album came out when I was 10 years old...I was loving, living and learning this album....I think I had a musical maturity early on...maybe that's why I continued to love Prince, Teena, Rick James...they challenged my musical intellect!

Tell me about it. I was 5 when the "Ask Rufus" album came out. I was immediately drawn to "The Egyptian Song". I felt a connection to the lyrics.
