His album was released in 2009 and I'm just now hearing about it?! This is exactly the type of retro R&B sound that I love! Someone on facebook suggested that I check out his album and I think it's GREAT.It's alot like Raphael Saadiq's 'The Way I See It',which I also love.His videos are all over Youtube and some of them are hilarious.....they're like home movies that he filmed in his own neighborhood,lol.He seems to have a great sense of humor.

Like Chromeo, his voice leave a lot to be desired, but the music arrangements & productions are top notch.

Since you love the early 80s stuff, you might wanna check Chromeo in case you missed out on them too we've been riding on their bandwagon here for quite a while, well lol I can't lie, I only found about 'em last year.

I agree,his voice isn't very strong but the arrangements are incredible.I think he plays most of the instruments on the album,too.

That would be impressive if true. He has a cool sound.

I downloaded his CD and I agree with what's been said - the production is great, I just wish the singing didn't have a little bit of "is this a send up or is it sincere" quality to it. But I do like his sense of humor as well...

Ive mention him quite a few times on varius threads,but dnt feel bad i just found out about him a little less than a year ago:-D ........ oh yea he went by "DJ Haircut" too..........

Dig the album; have it on vinyl. Love the title track.
