Last night may have been the best overall performances by the entire contestants EVER on Idol.

Jacob is a BEAST.

Jacob really had some good coaching that was an excellent performance. He wasn't all over the place with in voice like he usually is.

I agree with You I don't know wtf is up with that Paul dude? I think he is a strange dude and doesn't have much talent. I thought he had a good performance on duet night in the beginning of the show. I don't know why they praise him so much???

james the autistic kid, did hell of a performance last night

The Thia is a good singer but not a great performer yet. She will sell alot of records world wide.

Casey is falling off he needs to bringit. He is still riding the wave from when he performed with the upright base a few shows back. I like him though

Nimaha is creative also but she has been slipping... and she needs a makeover lol

Stephano is a good singer also but hasn't found his niche

Pia has nice voice but boring as a performer

Young blonde good singer...but struggles with the words sometimes

That country dude has a deep country voice and that's it. He is the barry white of country.

Haley is improving....and Damn she has nice legs

Comments from Ryan at the very beginning and thru out the show and way 2 dramatic at the end.

Can't stand Jacob. His voice reminds me of the "adult women's choir" which translates to geriatric women's choir. All that timber, swooping and shake in his voice... too dramatic. He can't just sing a note without all that shaking. disbelief He sounds like Freddy Jackson live. I saw Freddy Jackson and could hardly recognize his signature song "You are my lady" with all that quaking in his voice.

Did u like it last night?

I only watched parts of it... and did not watch him sing. I saved it on TIVO so I guess I will go back and watch his perfomance. I mainly watched to see if either of my 2 favorites made it through; Naima, and Cayce.

I don't even watch this show. And anyone who gets voted off does better than the winner. I stopped after season 3. It got ridiculous.

I like Jay Kay's weedy little voice.

Actually caught the live show...usually DVR it but Haley showed up tonight...what has she been doing all these weeks? Absolutely loved her rendition of Bennie and the Jets...and Casey proved the judges right in saving him. Two favs of the night.

I agree, he's amazing. I just wish he'd pick better songs sometimes.

I enjoyed Casey & Lauren's picks & performances best last night:

and Candle In the Wind with a country flavor, absolutely loved!

I think Haley stole the show. Definitely the best last night

Lauren did really well.

Casey did a lot better. He does need to choose better songs.

I think Naima is gone

I think Paul needs to go but wont be voted off. He is worthless

Stefano did a good performance but i think he is gone

Thia was did a nice job

Jacob has to get serious and stop the lip quivering thing.... Looks disturbing. He doesn't have to sing ever song like an over sung gospel jam.

Pia is soo boring!!!

Early prediction is Lauren is going to win the whole thing.

^ my feeling is Scotty would win the whole thing with Lauren as runner up.

as for Pia, call me corny but I'd love her to do a whole disk with nothing but big ballads redface

Okay, I finally got a chance to watch his performance during Motown week. i think they should record and release his version for download because it was THAT good.

I am converting to a fan of jacob now that his coaches has convinced him to restrain a bit. A little goes a long way with him.

They sent my girlfriend Naima home. It's hard being black on American Idol. Most of the audience is white and doesn't vote for r&b vocalists. sad

^ I liked Naima, and I liked her singing. I loved her style etc. I am not sad, because she will be on tour. I am hoping the touring will give her the exposure she needs to get a real break. Remember, JHud also got voted off of American Idol.

Watching these performances shows me the following:

No one knows how to sing Elton John songs

No one at Idol knows how to arrange and instruct singers for their performances

Everyone would be voted off if i was voting on last night, no one showed anything

American Idol wore out its welcome about 7 years ago at least

Does he have a unique tone? Yes.......can he sing? Hell no.

They love those weird, "quirky" singers that they see as hip and "indie"... The ones whose fanbase may consist mainly of guys wearing Clark Kent glasses, sipping a latte at Starbucks. The folks that would have been considered alternaive in the 90's and be on MTV's 120 Minutes...

Call me old fashioned, but I don't like that whole Indie thing at all.... I like what's considered a traditionally great singer or a traditionally great player.

I was pretty shocked. It looks like the Sanjaya (sp??) phenomenen is at work. Preteen girls are flooding the voting. confused That is the only way I can figure Pia is gone and Stefano and Paul are still there.
