You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Kathy is always lauded as THE VOICE of the group but her sisters were no slouches.

Joni lead some of their best cuts:

I'm not 100% certain but I think "Once In Your Life" is sung by Joni as well.

Debbie's "Give In To Love" and "I Don't Want To Say Goodbye" are other favorites.

And there's an awesome non-LP B-side called "Have Love Will Travel" that I have been trying to find digitally for years.

SoulAlive

These three albums are essential:

'We Are Family' (1979)

'Love Somebody Today' (1980)

'All American Girls' (1981)

music I don't have any of their other albums but those three are superb.

What are you waiting for?! lol It's an excellent album. The two previous albums were produced by Niles Rodgers and Bernard Edwards (Chic) but on this album, they worked with Narada Michael Walden.Surprisingly,it has a Chic-like sound on several tracks.
