You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I need somebody to make me a Motown-era Jermaine mixtape...
You Need To Be Loved and Castles Made of Sand have gotten instant replays on my playlist for months now.
I know this may be cliche, but I love this version of this classic:
I've also been loving this one:
Check me out and add me on:

*thinks his best ballad is "Do What You Do"* "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

I hate that Jermaine is actually pretty talented. I wanna hate on him cause he's so amusing but i just can't do it.
Do What You Do is the ish. So is the video for Dont' Take It Personal, Erms was looking RIGHT. (Don't judge me!)
Where Are You Now is a nice one as well, altho it screams 70s!!!!!! ( I know it was 80 but it still has that 70s sound to it). My dad had that on vinyl so I've heard it a few times before. Prince esta muerto...

That and "Daddy's Home" are his best imo. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

The beginning of I Am Love (which is the single version or Part 1) is nice too. Yeah, that's a great song. "Let Me Tickle Your Fancy" is a good one, too.

did jermaine get mad at michael because she was in the 'in the closet' vid... er... short film? was he like, "you stole my idea AGAIN, michael!!!"

Thank you! This song is so lovely. Jermaine wrote it himself. Love the chorus blended with the ad libs in the end.
To a certain extent Jermaine and Michael shared some things as songwriters. The way they used harmonies and ad libs in slow jams etc. Listen to songs like this one and Michael's Fly Away etc. [Edited 2/14/11 9:48am]

Like Jermaine's background on this. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
