Mercedes Sherida Lander (born January 25, 1984) is the drummer and backing vocalist for theCanadian alternative metal group Kittie.

Her sister, Morgan Lander, also sings and plays guitar for Kittie. Other than Morgan she is the only other original member of Kittie.^[1]

She was also the leading vocals for a small Canadian project band called Night of the Demons. They were considered hardcore and

focused on horror themed lyrics. They have only released one E.P. to date.

How you figure drummers aren't musicians? Don't you know that drummers are the most vital part of any band? Ask James Brown, Carlos Santana War, P-Funk Tower Of Power, Earth Wind & Fire Average WHite Band, Motley Crue Guns N Roses, Prince Lenny Kravitz, etc etc.Wether it's electric, acoustic, congas, bongos, tambourines, handclaps,timbales...Wether it's a guy or girl playin them, without a great percussion section the band don't move. There's no heartbeat in the no music. PERIOD.
