Michael was just my favorite character on Good Times. But as a singer, he was average. Didn't he do an album at the same time? I know he had a song called "When You're Young And In Love."

Do you have a recent picture of him to share, that you would characterize as "fine"? "There's Nothing That The Proper Attitude Won't Render Funkable!"

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton |

Keeping a low profile, no doubt. Last I knew of him, he was living in Harlem. "There's Nothing That The Proper Attitude Won't Render Funkable!"

I used to live on the same block as Johnny Brown (Bookman) in the 80's, and we used to speak several times a week as he would be jogging (yes, lol) by my apartment. We shopped at the same supermarket also. This picture is from about 12 years ago though. "There's Nothing That The Proper Attitude Won't Render Funkable!"

I know he was at the time he was discovered for "Good Times", not sure about afterward. Though I don't believe so. "There's Nothing That The Proper Attitude Won't Render Funkable!"

He was a very handsome young man, and had an absolutely beautiful ass (...as did John Amos).

How ironic the same guy who gave Janet her first kiss was actually for the OTHER team.
The pants fitted him like a glove too. |

Shoot, as he got older, all of us should've gotten the point about him. My mother always thought he had a gay tendency about him, especially after James died and the militant midget stage went away. In fact, my mom's friend met him once in the 70's and she was floored because he was way different from Michael we knew from the show. I'm interested in knowing what went on behind the scenes of that show when the camera went off. I think I recall the E! True Hollywood Story on Good Times saying that Ralph was probably the most quietest, but he joked around with some male cast members and camera crew from time to time. Hmmm...I don't know, but I still would've loved to be with him. [Edited 2/17/11 17:30pm] Check me out and add me on:

Yeah he's real quiet from what I heard. The loud voiced Michael Evans from the first two seasons was different from who he actually was anyway. He kinda let his real personality shown after season 3. |

Yep. My mother's friend once met him in the 70's when the show was popular and he was about 18 at the time. She remembered him as being different from Michael Evans....way different! And she got a gay hint from him too. I don't care one way or another because he was hot in my book. Check me out and add me on:

I miss that about the 70's. I remember there was a jeans company called "Male", bell-bottoms which were all made with a thick elastic waistband, and came in denim and corduroy. Mostly the brothers wore them, as they were cut with extra room in the seat. Man, I wish they'd bring THOSE jeans back, lol. Times have certainly changed. I'd kill to be in the time machine to go back to that time. Baggy jeans are not so cute. And neither are skinny jeans. |
