I saw one episode of DeBarge and one episode of the Jackson brother's show and that was enough. I only did that because I mistakenly thought there would be music.

I've never watched any other reality show unless you count AI.

The average person does not live an interesting life and when reality shows put a bunch of average people together in a house, they see their lives aren't interesting. That's why they create all these damn "contests" for them to compete in because it's always something that going to get them to fighting with each other. These shows create friction between people rather than trying to solve it.

When MTV first started "The Real World", I thought it was a great idea. They put a group of people together in a house from different backgrounds and they even included one or two blacks and a gay guy to show how they lived and how they could get along. There were a few arguments but they came naturally without the show creating situations that would provoke the arguments. Then, people could see that the two black people's lives as well as the gay guy's lives were no different than the white people's lives. They were just as dull because we all live dull lives on an everyday basis unless it's at a time when we are partying and having a good time or when something bad or tragic is going on in our lives and then it would seem interesting to someone else.

When celebrities do reality shows, they are always done at a time when they don't live interesting lives. It's' always at a time when they are either drug free or doing their drugs in secret away from the cameras. A time when they supposedly "have their lives together". Of course this is going to be dull because we all live the same lives that they do....eating, sleeping, shopping, occassional parties, etc. An interesting reality show would be done when they are at the height of their career on top. A time when they are touring, strung out on drugs, sleeping with groupies, fighting with rival artists, etc. Of course, a celebrity that is on top would have no need to do a reality show because their money would be flowing in from their record sales.

I can't stand that Jerm! I tuned in to watch their reality show once and couldn't stomach him. He gave me gas Out of all the Jackson kids, Jermaine seem to have his father's heart the most.
