I still shake my head in amazement at what he did with Come to My Garden. Everytime I listen the album I discover something I that went over my head the previous time, extremely haunting stuff.
and EW&F's fans might disagree with me on this, but ever since he passed away, their albums lost a certain element. I still like the post-Charles stuff, but it sounded simpler in contrast to the stuff they did with Charles.

nah, i am TOTALLY with you on the earth wind and fire bit. he laid a brilliance to music few in his field did.
one of my favourite stepney tracks (which he composed) is 'theme in search of a movie'. eddie harris performed it. it's not on the youtube though. believe me, i have been trying to find it there for the longest time. [Edited 2/16/11 7:01am]

He was an exceptional producer/composer and the linchpin in EWF's sound. I can't seem to recall the cause of his death.

Whatever happend to this film?
they briefly profiled it in a site I go to but after that,,,,*cricketsville!*
I'm dying to watch the whole thing.
Speaking of films, a lil' trivia, Charles can be seen as one of the producers in EW&F/Harvey Keitel's "Thats the Way of the World" obscure movie.
