hmm, I only disliked Boys Boys Boys which sounds like a Katie Perry song lol lol confused

the rest of the album (beyond the singles) was pure gold in my ears: Starstruck, I Like It Rough, The Fame, Beautiful, Dirty & Rich, etc.

The rap destroys "Starstruck". "Boys Boys Boys" was yuck. "I Like It Rough" was rough. I liked "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich" and "The Fame" though... I don't know, some of it had a strong feel and then something ruins some of the songs. It wasn't totally bad though but let's just say it wasn't one of those albums that I thought "oh wow this is like some great material". I initially was digging it but it's wearing thin now. shrug Like I said late last week she has potential to do better.

I know what you mean, but I back in 2008-09 I thought (and I still do) that The Fame was the most "respectable" & most exciting pure dance-pop album since, shit I don't know...perhaps the mid-80s, the days of early Madonna and Cindy... cool I mean, I'm amazed that people are still comparing GaGa to Ke$ha or Britney lol neutral rolleyes Gaga plays in an absolutely different (and better) league...

Yeah it reminds me of early Madonna in spots, that's why I was like "heeeey..." but then she has those moments where she's like everyone else... hrmph This next album need to break her out of that pact for good... despite the underwhelming of BTW, I can't lie if I was to say I'm still trying to see where she's going with the next one. I'm not gonna be totally optimistic. I'm buying it with low hopes. I want this girl to surprise me. lol If she don't, oh well lol

We're kind of veering off topic here but since Joe Tyler started the thread I don't think he will mind.

I don't like much new music at all and it took me quite a while to "get" Lady Gaga but once I did everything clicked perfectly. I absolutely love The Fame Monster and for me it's the best pop album I've heard in many, many years. I can put both discs on and listen to them the whole way through without feeling like I need to skip anything.

Having said that I will not be buying her new album right away. I think I will wait for the inevitable "deluxe" version, there's nothing I hate more than buying the same album twice!

Although I LOVE Gaga, I don't think the Fame is a very good album, I think "Boys Boys Boys" and "Eh Eh Nothing Else I Can Say" are truly awful songs. It was The Fame Monster EP that really sold her to me and now I'm completely enamored by her.

Ice-T "Rhyme Pays"

Mary J.Blige "What´s the 411?"

Boogie Down Productions "Criminal Minded"

George Michael "Faith"

112 "112" (that is the name of their debut, right? I own it but I´m not sure about the title lol )

Maxwell "Urban Hang Suite" (now THAT is one timeless, brilliant, all time favorite, cohesive album!)

Snoop Dogg "Doggystyle"

Nas "Illmatic"

Jay-Z " Reasonable Doubt" ( a masterpiece compared to what came after that)

Notorious B.I.G "Born To Die"

Mos Def "Black On Both Sides"

My 10 fave debuts in no particular order:

The Doors-The Doors

Macy Gray-On How Life Is

Cyndi Lauper-She's So Unusual

Lenny Kravitz-Let Love Rule

The Wailers-Catch A Fire (not really a debut, but...)

No Doubt-Tragic Kingdom (not really a debut, but...)

Jimi Hendrix Experience-Are You Experienced?

NWA-Straight Outta Compton

DJ Quik-Quik Is The Name

Compton's Most Wanted-It's A Compton Thang

I´m not sure whether Straight Outta Compton passes as their debut album because NWA had released two albums prior to that one. But they were labeled as "NWA and the Posse" and contained several tracks by associated artists. Some say that those early NWA albums are semi-legit releases bordering on bootleg material, but I don´t know about the legal technicalities.

[img:$uid]http://www.westcoastpioneers.com/uploads/pics/cover_nwa_panic_zone_macola_mrc_1034_1987_front_02.jpg[/img:$uid]

Here´s what Wiki says:

N.W.A. and the Posse was a 1987 Macola Records release that compiled various Dr. Dre-produced tracks and was marketed as an album by N.W.A. It includes previously released tracks by N.W.A, Eazy-E, the Fila Fresh Crew, and Rappinstine. The cover photo is the same as N.W.A's "Panic Zone" single and features people who do not appear on the record. The album peaked at #39 on Billboard magazine's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.[1]

On the album cover, their group name has a full stop at the end, while in later albums, it does not.

N.W.A. and the Posse was re-released in 1989 by Ruthless Records, substituting another N.W.A song for the one by Rappinstine. The album was certified gold by the RIAA in 1994.[2]

I think this one below was not really legit though. There´s also no NWA in the title, but it was considered the sequel to that first NWA record.

Point?? the thread is for debut record, Prince my fave artist ever his DEBUT sucked ass, Stevie Wonders wasnt as good as these to me. Lionel Richie's was boring as shit, Kool and The Gang's was ok but no where near BEST. I dont classify music in black and white, its good and bad, some people need to learn that instead of playing the race card which stems from ignorance. If thats how u look at music that post a thread BEST white albums and BEST black albums, see how racist that sounds?? thats how u think.

and for the record almost none of my favorite artists are on this list, guess you didnt read the thread what a shock, Like i said Prince,Lionel,Stevie all excluded due to very lackluster debut albums.

Just dont appreciate thoughts like white and black its too simplistic, deal with stereotypical crap like this way too much to even want to acknowledge it further, sometimes ones own race is its own worst enemy.
