Well...I have been really liking lillo Thomas ALOT...I just fell in LOOVE with the song "I'm In Love" yesterday and cannot stop playing it.

U guys told me he did some work with Melba...does she have any good uptempo / midtempo cuts??

I tried to get into Melba...for years. But she turns me way off. I don't know what it is but it's like... she has a great voice (though I think she has the tendency to oversing at times) but the material seems poor except for a few songs in the early '80s (the disco joints all sound like nothing except probably "Standing Right Here" and "You Stepped into My Life"). She hit her mark with "Love's Comin' at Ya" and "Underlove" only to fall apart again.

You can ask SunnySkies though (if he appears in this forum) or probably SoulAlive, I'm sure they probably recommend you her '70s material.

Knowing your taste for 80s boogie, I know you'd sink your teeth into these 4 albums(her FINEST moments IMO - with all due respect to her 70s albums).

Hmm,,,,I think Kashif & Paul Lawrence were the ones who worked with both her & Lilo.

Kashif knew how to get the girls' chops working though, the stuff he did for Melba & Evelyn still sounds fresh.

I adore Melba! Especially her 80's stuff. Go to funkytowngrooves.com. They are going to begin reissuing her early and mid 80s material starting tomorrow (2/13). That is the perfect place to begin.

By now,there should be a 2-CD compilation that gathers up her best material from the various record labels she recorded on.I have this compilation but it is far from complete.It's missing several of her 70s hits.
