He is the only man I know that looks better in recent years than he did back then. He was some kind of ugly in the 1970s with that afro that looked like it was falling off his head but when I've seen him in the last 10 or 15 years, he's made my dick hard. lol

Andy is a four letter word.

hello... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!

i like that one, 'just put some love in your heart'. and i really do like 'endless love' too. that song makes me cry. my mother used to run 'truly' into the ground... she was IN LOVE with lionel richie. she used to say to me and my sister, "i don't care if you think he looks like a horse, he's sexy to me!!!" yes, my mother did say this to us when we were children. i guess we both said he looked like a horse. my mother had commodores records, but I DON'T REMEMBER HEARING THEM!!! SHE PLAYED THE FREAKING SOLO ALBUMS ALL THE TIME!!!

i actually saw him perform a number of years ago; i actually called my mother long distance so she could sort of hear him, but she didn't pick up. she was like, 'you tried to call me? really? i missed it!!!' the thing is, his show was actually good. it was just him and a piano for a lot of it, with a band backing him.

i actually like the arrangement of 'all night long', but his singing kind of ruins it for me, with his carribean/african affectation.

the backs and gatefolds of the commodores covers were pretty flaming (as was mr. richie when i saw him perform). so gunsnhalen... i don't know the sexual preference of all the dudes in the band, but if you were there around that time, there may have been a chance for you? who knows...

i gotta respectfully agree to dis-agree... he looks like he's had one too many botox treatments.

I agree. His first solo album and 'Can't Slow Down' are excellent.I lost interest after that.'Dancing On The Ceiling' sucks! The song, the video and most of the songs on the album.

Whenever I think of Lionel I think of his then wife beating the shit outta him when she caught him in bed with his mistress who he later married and divorced.

You and almost everyone else because after that incident, Mr. Richie kept a low low profile, the career was never the same. Brenda pulled a plug, a hand full of hair out of his paramour's head.

The two last albums have a dew decent contemporary R&B songs on them. I thought they were more pleasant to listen to than a lot of the material done by the younger artists.

That incident singlehandedly destroyed his career. It ruined people's perception of him. Here was the guy who wrote tender love songs like "Truly" and "Endless Love"....cheating on his wife?! He had a 'good guy' image before and it was suddenly shattered. He never really had any big hits after that.

It wasn't so much that he cheated that ended his career, but the fact that he did so with a white woman. My aunt STILL talks about that. That happened before any social media but to hear my aunt tell it, the weekend after it happened, every black beauty parlor in America could talk of nothing else.

It didn't help matters that Lionel later married the trick, but from what I understand, no wedding pics were ever released and it was a good long while before the woman Lionel did the deed with was publically seen with him. Rumor had it that before Lionel went public with the other woman, she underwent a makeover to make herself look more "ethnic. " Either way, it didn't work, Richie and the woman later got divorced.

It wasn't just the affair that threw Lionel's career a curve ball.

He also had to take time off and care for his ailing father. Lionel

was supposed to make his comeback right after Motown released

a greatest hits album on him with 3 new tracks which included Do It To

Me and My Destiny in 1992. Lionel wasn't able to resume his solo career

until 1996 because of his father's health which followed all the drama with

his mistress.
