Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" On Track to Be 1,000th #1 Hit On Billboard Hot 100 It now looks like Lady Gaga will make a historic debut at #1 on the pop singles chart in the US with "Born This Way" this week. It will not only have soared to that spot on just three days of sales and airplay, but also it will be the 1,000th recording to hit #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart. According to Billboard, it is looking like the sales total will be in the range of 450,000. This would give "Born This Way" the fourth highest digital sales debut of all time, and, again, that is with only three days of availability. The biggest debut ever belongs to Flo Rida's #1 smash "Right Round" with sales of 636,000 in its first week. Over at pop radio the story is similar. Just weeks ago Britney Spears rewrote portions of the pop music record book when her single "Hold It Against Me" opened at #16 on pop radio. This week Lady Gaga will hit the charts at #14 with only three days of spins on the radio. This week's official Billboard Hot 100 chart will be released Thursday morning, February 17, 2011. Lady Gaga is clearly the world's biggest pop star of today.
