I'm definitely for El being given a second chance and for his ending to

be a happy one. While i don't take the same hard line stance Graycap does,

there is a point when El is gonna have to do this on his own. No matter how

much support he has from family, friends, and fans, this is ultimately an El thing

he has to fix himself. On the real, if this were a celebrity that was not well received

by the org, would the feeling be the same as it is towards El.

Nah. I wouldn't be like that. lol Even if their music sucked and I don't particularly like them overall, I'll still wish them well on their recoveries. smile

You are special Timmy but yeah that's how I tend to see things too. The biggest fuck-ups have at least one person pulling for them or can tell why they are special and are worth supporting, celebrity or not.

I think you're being a bit harsh, GC. Are you suggesting he's a futureless druggie repeatedly wasting his talent?

I'm saying that all of these folks bending over backwards 2 help him get his life and career back on track...............and he has fallen off the wagon in a few weeks/months? That is the very definition of a WASTE of time.

I get ur point. Though I'm praying for him, he knew what he was getting back into when he decided to start promoting this new project. I'm sure he turned to the drugs because he was working constantly. There wasn't hardly a show I've seen since he did the BET Awards that he hasn't been on.

He really needs to re-examine his life and figure out what he needs to do.

Are some people worth bending over "backwards 2 help"? That does seem to be the implication, that El is intrinsically unworthy of the investment of our/your time. But there are some people who are worth the investment of our/your time. It seems that if you "don't fall off the wagon" you are not a WASTE of time.

Unfortunately, drug manufacturers and the myriad of industries and people that profit off of El's addiction/wagon/sobriety process, don't think he is a waste of time. Drug and alcohol dependency issues are not always just about use. "Money, money money money..."

So many people are so judgemental about something that they know nothing about! Since you don't seem to already know, have known, and don't want to know people that have had issues involving drug addiction, how can you speak on it except from an ignorant point of view? Society dehumanizes people who have drug addictions, many of whom have life and/or mental issues which led them to self-medicate with drugs, alcohol, food, gambling, and other addictive behaviors. Unless you have walked a mile in someone's shoes...you shouldn't assume that you know what is going on in that person's life or dismiss them as a "waste of time." Remember, that except for the grace of a higher power, family, genetics, or chance,...that person might be you!

Yes, and the self importance of some folks is hysterical. El Debarge isn't begging some internet posters for their support, so I don't know why those who dont care about him even bother to comment.
