To my understanding, schedule issues.

I don't think scheduling would have prevented them from recording a duet. They could have each sang their respective parts, on their own time, even in separate parts of the world.

They're both gone now, so we'll never know for sure. But I had always heard that something of a more personal nature transpired between Freddy & Michael, that Michael wasn't too pleased with, that caused him to sever ties with Mercury.

The rumour has been that Michael had caught Freddie Mercury doing coke during the recording sessions and that MJ was so anti-drug he didn't want to work with Freddie anymore.

Whether that is the reason or not, Freddie's recreational drug use during the 80s has been widely documented, so I wouldn't be surprised if MJ had noticed Freddie sneaking off to "powder his nose".

Then that would have been another of the rumors, yes. Not one I had heard, though there were several to choose from, apparently.

I came across an interesting interview on YouTube with Freddie Mercury. It's about the three tracks they were supposed to finish. This is what he says:

Very cool. thumbs up! I also watched a few other Freddie Mercury videos after this one. How great to hear and see him speaking again. But I never get used to some of the ignorant comments people leave anonymously on the net.

May Freddie be resting in GLORIOUS peace. rose
