Don Cheadle said the ball's rolling on the Miles Davis movie. He's also talking about approaching a lot of musicians to take part in the movie and/or soundtrack. And yep, he mentioned Prince because he knew they performed together.

I'd like to see one on Roy Orbison.

Also, movies like "Backbeat" about The Beatles were about a period in time. It doesn't have to be a life story.

It doesn't have to be about someone THAT famous, as long as it's a good story and gets good reviews, has someone people have heard of in it, people will go see it.

I think a good movie about Jimi would be an "early years" one. I don't think Janie authorized any music for that movie. Or make a movie based around Jimi's songs.

I just hope no one makes another movie like "I'm Not There". That was a one trick pony.

hmmm, glad to hear the Miles pic is on from Cheadle. I like his idea to use all real musicians too. i doubt if Prince would participate tho,

I agree, Kelly looks similar enough to Donna (even her shape) where she could successfully portray her on film. I think she could even adjust her vocals to sound like Donna.

I always thought Prince would make the perfect Hendrix in a movie. Some trick camera work would make him taller and reversing the image would make him left handed.

there was actually a movie about jimi hendrix. it was made-for tv or something. i remember seeing it on video in a store at one point. it's called 'hendrix' and was released in 2000. wood harris (?? i don't know who this is) plays hendrix.

they actually discuss in the movie, how people are after his money. which would actually match the theory that his manager had him murdered after hendrix considered dumping him- which meant that he would not have access to hendrix' life insurance policy. the narratives of michael and hendrix match so well, that it's not even funny.
