Tupac Marvin Gaye Janis Joplin - I think they're already doing or have done this but I'm not sure. B.B King Donna Summer- ok I've not heard any rumors of a biopic but it would be cool if they did one Aaliyah - that would be cool because of all that R. Kelly, JayZ, Damon Dash drama Vanity 6 - would be cool even though most folk today probably don't know who they are/were I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

I haven't read that book. I did read one by a British author, I can't remember her name though. I thought it was only the 3rd album was mostly Valerie. At least that's what The Complete Duets CD says. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Speaking of aussies...what about those Men At Work guys? That would be a good biopic if it wasn't ever considered before. Weren't they like huge for a few years and then they just upped and dissappeared? I've read that they took on regular jobs like teaching and engineering and that all these years later they have reached an out of court settlement over one of their songs; the lawsuit took years or something. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

It's interesting how Divided Soul is treated as the gospel. Marvin was either high, pissed or depressed when he told these stories to David and David took it to heart. David was an idiot.

David Ritz wrote the liner notes I think.

No, it says Brian Chin. He wrote some stuff on those J5 re-releases from 2001 too. Who knows. Tho' I always finding it interesting when shit is revealed that looks more embarrassing when it's seen in the light of day, some comeback talkin' bout I was misquoted or I was fuckin' with you. Yeah. OK. To see Mr. Gaye's father mannerism and dress when that "piece of "fiction" was supposedly published . . . it doesn't appear to be too far fetched. I'll leave it at that.

He did wear wigs and blouses. The Midnight Special was clear about that.

I'll give the man his kudos for having the guts to wear and live his life, on his terms. But his issues with Marvin. . . sad, stranger, and tragic.

Teddy's car accident wasn't fatal, he just died like a year or so ago.

Whether or not it's true, it seems odd that Motown would put out that kind of information. What are they gaining by saying it's Valerie, if they covered it up before? Motown ain't really say anything. I think the confusing thing is both Valerie and Tammi were on the same tracks so it can be hard to distinguish. Many have made up their mind that it was Valerie even if they didn't read the book because they noticed "differences".

I think what happened with Marvin, Sr. happened with his father (Marvin Jr.'s grandfather) George too. Sometimes disastrous behaviors are linked to the family tree. [Edited 2/14/11 18:22pm]

This shit was so cringe-worthy. I'm still not 100% sure if it's intended to be a joke or not. I take it as a joke even though I think they were trying to be serious.

Meagan Good just said she wanted to play Whitney.
I don't see it. | |

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!! it was directed by allan moyle, the dude who did 'pump up the volume'. i wasn't really into that one either, in retrospect. but THIS movie? that takes the cake for horrendous-ness. EVERYTHING about it is wrong, from the casting, to the script, to the cinematography.
i think moyle (or whoever) took a lot of the ideas from andersson's 'unauthorized' book, and possibly la toya's? [Edited 2/14/11 19:04pm]

i am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not familiar with all of these actors... who is meagan good?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
She's D list. Let me try to think...her most popular role...um, she used to be on a show called Cousin Skeeter in the early 90s. Nickelodeon. As far as movies, she was in Stomp The Yard.
Her resume is an absolute flop.

meagan goode is a hottie. u are indeed missing out. cinematic eye candy waiting to prove she got uhh, chops
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
i'm more interested in the chops than the looks. if she's a looker, i could always look up her picture, right? but why am i gonna waste money on acting skills she doesn't have?
okay... i just looked at her picture... she IS pretty, but she'd look so much better if she covered herself up. what's with all these women with their breasts popping out? your beauty is in the whole temple, which means, it's how you treat yourself. i mean, 90% of the photos i am seeing, her breasts are about to pop out of her dress. NOT attractive. there's ONE photo i see, where she's actually got a shirt up to her neck. she's actually MOST attractive in that picture.
she's so pretty though, she doesn't need the make-up. she has natural beauty. as i keep saying, i guess i'm just old-fashioned. i'm not into the whole 'sex sells', tons o' makeup thing... datdude, you can keep her, all to yourself.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
i'm willing to bet there are tons of mediocre actresses in movies you already pay to see who don't get slammed. also, we know that sex sells so you are going to find more pics of her where she had on something revealing. she doesn't upload every pic on the net herself. there are more to be found of where she is appropriately clothed. i digress, the biopic of her as whitney isn't getting made anyway.

hmmmm... i actually don't watch hollywood movies too much, so i don't see a lot of the 'sex sells' thing actually. i'm a fan of documentaries, films from iran, films about cats and babies, etc.
and as much as it costs to see a film these days, i'll wait until it comes out at the library or whatever. i think the last hollywood film i went to see, it was for free because my homeboy worked at the place. and of course, it was bad.
no, i take that back. the last hollywood film i saw when it came out was 'dreamgirls'. i don't really support hollywood. there's nothing of substance there. [Edited 2/15/11 2:28am] [Edited 2/15/11 2:30am]
