Hey at least they threw a curveball again. All the music publications were praising them anyway. Happy that the others didn't win. They don't sound half bad either...

eek Wasn't expecting Arcade Fire to win Album of the Year, but was anybody expecting them to sing a song afterward? I think the stars in the audience were ready to head to their respective afterparties.

Ha, even though there was a lot going on and the song didn't hit me, can't say they didn't have a totally bad performance (even though I gave it a low rating) especially with BMX drivers. lol Congrats.

Ladies and Gentlemen now on our stage,......the most overrated band in history....ARCADE FIRE. One word for them, just because you bang on things, use all instruments, and do things out of the normal construction of what songs are, doesnt make it good.

agreed-they sounded awful

This is 4 u lastdecember!! I predict the group of the DECADE:lol: cool headbang

take note: it isn't often that an act gets to get back up there after they win album of the year and perform a second song. that's because they are a fully formed unit that doesn't need lights, fireworks, chroeography, backing tapes, a fucking trapeze and an 8 foot hair hat to play music.

It was a predictable win. They are hands down the favorite band of those in the industry.

Those Beiber fans are ruthless. I made a comment on you tube about a live performance he did and it wasn't even bitchy or mean. Went back a week later and man the things I was called.

They will have someone's head on a pike.

i'm glad Em, didn't win for album of the year, glad to see him get shut out of most of his categories. i'm FROM the D, and i loathe him, that coupled with an empty-handed night for Beyon-Skank makes for a decent Grammys!

kinda surprised at the love the Roots and John Legend got tonight, not to mention Cee-Lo snagging the award for Urban Alternative. he's solidifying a solid post Goodie Mob, and Gnarls legacy. Danger Mouse as best producer non-classical was on point too.

Oh don't worry because down the line, they'll all be singing a different tune. I'ma give Bieber about another year...just another one before he fades alittle and those sales start slipping.

Mine too, as well as the Aretha tribute. Glad Jeff Beck won 3 Grammys, Herbie Hancock 2 and Esperanza Spaulding - Best New Artist over that damned Drake.

I thought the ridiculous flashing lights, and bike riders riding all over the stage wasn't necessary. It sought of took away from concentrating on the band. Not familar with that group, and I'm probably too old to know who they are anyway.lol

then this decade will be as bad and overblown as the last. they arent an awful band but this is the issues i had with Radiohead, this is only some much you can do with banging and quirkey noise, im not hearing anything in Arcade Fire, i hear more in a band like THE NATIONAL, more constructive, i dont dig what arcade fire is trying to do, its very sloppy in playing, critics love it because its the cool thing to love right now, but next year there will be another band that is gonna be the best band on earth and then a week later another one, Impress me with music not HYPE,

So Eminem fell short of expectations. As did Drake, Bieber and Lady Gaga - wonderful night, except for Usher's wins and Sade winning where Aretha and Ron Isley should have. Can anyone say Bruno Mars overrated...

Oh well.

I agree, that performance was a mess. The audio was fucked. I love the band and their albums are great, but I NEVER enjoy watching them perform. It doesn't usually come with seizure-inducing strobe lights and bicycles, but even without those things, there's a lot of unnecessary affectation in their mannerisms that doesn't really go with the kind of band they are or the music they play.

Ones put their paws up (though I don't think they'd be too mad since that one did get to win an album Grammy on TV haha) and another think their man's some invisible rock god. lol
