The Brothers' Johnson's 'Winners' Expanded edition with bonus tracks

BROTHERS JOHNSON: WINNERS (Expanded)

Guitarist, George Johnson and Bassist, Louis Johnson became two of the most in demand session players in early seventies Los Angeles, backing the likes of Bobby Womack, Billy Preston and The Supremes. They soon came to the attention of the legendary Quincy Jones, who produced the duo's first four albums, all of which went Platinum.

The Brothers Johnson came to define the uptown funk of the late seventies with hits like "I'll Be Good To You," "Get the Funk Outta My Face," "Runnin' For Your Lovin'" and "Strawberry Letter #23."

Fresh from their international 1980 smash hit, STOMP, the duo released their fifth album in 1981. Quincy Jones had just left A&M Records and was unavailable for production duties but the Brothers Johnson were confident that they had learned enough from their mentor and proved it by producing their own masterpiece with WINNERS. Featuring the R&B hits "The Real Thing" and "Dancing Free."

BBR is proud to present this wonderfully repackaged expanded edition of WINNERS complete with extensive liner notes with a brand new interview with George Johnson. Bonus tracks are taken from BLAST!, the bands 1982 Hits collections including the hit, "Welcome To The Club."

What's really cool about this reissue is that it contains the four studio tracks that appeared on their next album 'Blast',an album which has never been issued on CD.
